Yucca madrensis or madre yucca , is a succulent native to the United States ( Mexico , Arizona ) that grows on the slopes of oak forest habitats at an altitude of 1200-2100 m.

CHARacteristics :.

Yucca madrensis is an evergreen succulent plant , forming an open rosette of leaves , each of which can be 50 – 100 cm long and 20 – 35 mm wide . The plant gradually develops a short , unbranched trunk , which can sometimes reach 2 meters in height . Madrensis has a hard stem and long dagger-shaped leaves , and the flower stalk can be up to 2.4 meters high . When mature , the plants bloom every year between June and September with many large , creamy flowers .

In winter with good protection this yucca is resistant to short-term drops in temperature , frost resistance of this yucca is estimated at – 20 degrees C . A great asset of this yucca is also a significant resistance to moisture and fungal diseases. While in the summer it copes well with heat and drought . Yucca Madrensis should be planted in well-drained soils . This plant likes sunny positions .
